BRICOLAGE
Bricolage is a definition of "to do some odd things"/ "to make something out of whatever is available". It has become a significant aesthetic and conceptual approach in postmodern filmmaking.
In media, it has been define as a concept of creating a new work by merging different existing elements from various sources. Normally, it usually use for entertainment or comedy purpose, such as mashups, parody and more. It challenges the traditional notion of originality and authenticity, therefore emphasizing transformers and creative reuse.
Di Va Quanh Ta is a Youtube channel that professionalize in merging different pieces of a song and viral videos/ phrases on social media, thus create a total new piece of mashups, which are really entertaining.
Recently, AI covers has been a trend for a long time since people can actually distort the voice of their favorite artists to sing the favorite song. Some of them work quite well, some even sounds really good. One example for this is the video of Arianna Grande and The Weeknd duet of "Save Your Tears", but they somehow mute the video and use the AI cover of them singing "Sau Tim Thiep Hong". They change the title into "Sau Tim Thiep Yuh", due to the famous "Yuh" of Arianna Grande whenever she sings.

Bricolage has significantly influenced the creative approaches storytelling strategies, and aesthetic styles of a wide range of media formats. It raises doubt on the idea of a single, authentic source by highlighting the connectivity and transformational potential of artistic expression. Additionally, bricolage inspires writers, filmmakers, and artists to embrace the variety of preexisting media materials and to conceive of new possibilities through recycling and improvisation.
Besides doing bricolage for comedy purpose, it's also applied in music video, which is also fascinating. What Is Love by Twice is a perfect example for this since it included some elements from many famous films, which will be illustrated below
THE PRINCESS DIARIES :
The first movie reference is to the well-known Disney picture The Princess Diaries, which in 2001 gave Anne Hathaway her big break. Nayeon plays Hathaway's awkward, geeky persona at first, complete with large spectacles and curly hair, before changing into a princess with sleek hair and flawless cosmetics later on. Watch out for TWICE's Sana, Mina, and Jihyo, who originally portrayed the cruel girls in the movie (with Mandy Moore in one of the roles).
