✭. FOUNDATION BACKGROUND :
As humans, we all have emotions. Happy, sad, cheerful, irritated, etc, all consist in our brain, our mindset. Life can pull us to different aspects of life, some of them can make you happy, but some of them can make you sad, irritated, or even make you cry. Life has changed a lot since the beginning of the 21st century, as regards the development of technology, art and more. Within the development and trends, it’s important for younger people to learn and cultivate themselves to study and become an individual that can be valuable for society. Knowledge and skill are very important, in order to help a particular country be developed, modern and rich.
Children are our future, which we had acknowledged before. They have the duty to continue our ancestors’ legacy and build an increasingly advanced society. Therefore, study and hone skills are important, since they can learn and develop their own talent, hence it not only modernizes the world, but also gives it more diversity. However, as time goes by, which leads to increasing needs for people, therefore, the world needs more innovative, knowledgeable, even bilingual or multilingual, as for globalization. This has developed expectations on us to the younger generation, in accordance with our needs. We expect to work harder, achieve many competitions, be knowledgeable as possible, know many languages in order to be able to communicate and more. As the needs get bigger, we have somehow accidentally created heavy pressure on them since they need to pursue the expectations in order to help the society to develop. This leads to a phenomenon called “mental disorders”, which causes many “invisible bruises” inside their heart and brain, causing them to be traumatized, therefore harming their mental health.

✭. PSYCHOLOGY REFERENCE :
Mental health awareness has received attention in recent years, since it’s a really serious problem, which can lead to worse consequences. For some explanations, depression is mostly caused by cognitive aspects, which are related to people’s mindset and thinking. In terms of psychology, a study by Beck ( 1979 ) has explained how a person can develop depression through thinking, specifically about their view about the world, the future and themselves, which is called “The Cognitive Triad”. This triad demonstrates how a person develops their thinking in different aspects. This model's initial element has to do with how each person sees himself. Bad experiences are internalized, implying that the person believes they are unworthy and incapable of happiness. Second, the person believes that there are insurmountable barriers in the way of their happiness and general well-being. They mistakenly believe that outside forces are working against them. The third element is a pessimistic outlook on the future; while contemplating a certain activity in the future, the individual expects rejection or failure.
Implies this situation, as younger people work hard to pursue their expectations, some of them have good results, but some of them don’t, even though they have worked hard and tried their best. As for our expectations, we can easily get irritated and unsatisfied when they don't get the expectations, therefore, it’s undeniable that some negative, impolite, even toxic feedback will appear as the thing to motivate them and push them to get better, which is called “Criticisms”. Not to mention that there will be comparisons between people and people, as the society becomes more competitive. Nevertheless, this kind of motivation could lower their mindset, they start to think that “I’m not enough”, “Everyone hates me now, I have to try harder”, “I’m a loser” and more. This can make them become more miserable, guilty, feeling down and more. Hence, they will look forward to the future, and indicate to themselves that they will be nothing but useless, stupid and ignorant, vain, heartless, cold and more criticisms that they created for themselves, thus they will think that their future will have nothing and empty. That’s why Vietnamese always have a phrase of comparing something is black with their future ( Your shirt is black, just like my future ). Therefore, they will conclude that they're useless individuals, who can’t do anything valuable for society.
This situation happens most significantly in students, especially with teenagers, since they both deal with academic achievements, also think about what they will be in the future. Some of them have the choice on deciding their future career, but some didn’t have that choice. Some of them may struggle both, still have some conflicting thoughts. As they have entered an environment that can be fun, cheerful and create many memories for them to keep, yet it still accidentally becomes a competitive environment that contains a bunch of peer pressure, since there will be students that are greater than the others.
✭. MY CHOSEN SONG :
My chosen song for the final music video is Butterfly by P1Harmony - a K-pop boy group. The song follows the genre of alternative dance, with a melancholy melody yet also hype and upbeat due to the EDM beat that goes along. The general lyrics of this song is all about the irritated and horrendous feeling about how the reality force us to do the same thing, or follow the same standard just like everyone else. We have our goals, our mindset, everything all done, but, is the goal reflect our self and our identities at all, or we did that just to satisfied the reality and be just like everyone else. The song indicates and use the picture of the broken wings butterfly, in my perspective, it represents it had reach our limits and patience, simply because we just can't give up our dreams or the thing that represent ourself and ability, just for other purposes. The song also include the pictures of the spider, which represents how the societal practices shaped us, which is related to the Asian societal background, when young people were often strangled with certain standards and never have an opportunity to decide their own future. Even if they have the chance to decide, there will be high probabilities that criticisms, gossips, or even concerns will occur, such as "How it gonna help you become stable?", "Will it make money?", etc.
The song without doubt indicates a lot about how young adults suffer mentally and are crushed by society's norms and ideals. Its lyrics are written in such a way that they touch and comfort the hearts of individuals who are having difficulty reviving.
